A cry for justice for the Tanzanian Maasai; a dire need for quick ACTION!

Very disturbing scenes; Desperate faces, hungry children, worried men and women are described by these pictures. The Tanzanian government through TANAPA has forced thousands of indigenous Tanzanian maasais out of their ancestral land, confiscated their livestock and burnt their homes.Information available to Kenyans and the world is scanty. Contact people in the ground are scared due to intimidation. However, the human rights violation on this people is loud,so apparent that silence is the least thing human rights groups and the Indigenous People organizations can do. The agreement that was signed in 1959 between the colonial government and the Maasai that saw the establishment of the Serengeti National Park clearly states that "the maasai will never face any possible eviction" why unleash such barbaric acts on a community known to be environment friendly, coexist harmonious and peacefully with wildlife over and above being a heritage envied the world over.
Of importance to this article is the call for immediate action by the Kenyan maasai to compel the Tanzanian Government to stop this horror; there are suggestions including but not limited to blocking the Kenya-Tanzania border in Namanga and Rombo in Loitoktok stopping every vehicle with Tanzanian registration numbers, demonstrating outside the Tanzania embassy in Kenya and burning their national flags, advocating for diplomacy and engaging the World Bank which is the main donor of indigenous people in the world to do something. Meanwhile, there is need for humanitarian aid, the displaced people are facing starvation, prone to diseases not mentioning that they are sleeping under trees in the rain.

  2. Justice for the Maasai all over the world who are the coexisting environmental friendly to with the wildlife! Jakaya Kikwete yesterday you are in Kenya to take chairmanship of EAC to go and oppress the maa?
We speak for the poor, vulnerable and the most oppressed so let them stay on their ancestral land with wild animals just as we are staying here in Amboseli. please don't destroy nor disturb our beautiful, peaceful ever harmonious and friendly living tribe.
